Angels Sang
December 24, 2007 | Faith
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby,
Hark! The herald angels sing
keeping watch over their flocks at night
Glory to the newborn king
An angel of the Lord appeared to them
Peace on earth and mercy mild
and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
God and sinners reconcile
But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
Join the triumph of the skies
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
With the angelic host proclaim
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel
Christ is born in Bethlehem!
praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest!
Hark! The herald angels sing
And on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.
Glory to the newborn King!
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.

December 24th, 2007 at 11:43 amI’ve been reading your blog for awhile now ,I often read them again to my husband (during the quiet moments we can steal here and there) after I have read them and we both agree that your writings are presented in such an enjoyable, simple, warm, clean and humorously entertaining way . It’s been a joy and a pleasure to have met your family in this way.

December 24th, 2007 at 2:53 pmHave a wonderful Christmas! It is already Christmas morning here in New Zealand - the sun is shining, there is a hint of rain to come later in the day, however - its a beautiful day at the moment!
And Santa has been.
December 24th, 2007 at 3:03 pmIs it okay that I imagine Linus reciting this passage every time I read it?
