It’s Almost Swimming Suit Season!
April 11, 2008 | Give Aways
I know. Normally I am not excited about it being swimming suit season, but this year I’m getting a decent swimming suit from Lands End – one that fits, covers, supports, slims, takes years off my thighs and tells me I’m funny. And I can’t wait.
The nice people at Lands End have also offered me a gift card good for one of their fabulously pretty and practical swimming suits to offer to you, my lovely lovely readers! You can see all of their suits here and and decide which one you want. Leave a comment on this post by this coming Wednesday, April 16th at 6pm CST and I’ll randomly draw a name and announce the winner on Thursday morning.
When you get the suit, you have to take a picture of yourself wearing it so I can post it on my blog. No. Not really, I just made that part up. We’re friends, remember? I wouldn’t do that to you.
If you don’t win the gift card, you can still go on line and order a suit and get free shipping through Thursday, April 17th, Just enter Code SWIM and PIN 530530530 when you check out.
I am ordering this suit in red. I’ll let you know how it works out.

I love this idea! I have been a “lurker” for a bit now. What broke mother wouldn’t enjoy this! Good luck all I will be awaiting to see big winner.
April 11th, 2008 at 10:54 pmDrop my name into the drawing. I love this year’s selection of suits at Lands’ End. I already bought my daughter her swimsuits and shorts for the summer. But alas…I haven’t purchased anything for myself.
April 11th, 2008 at 11:02 pmUm, I don’t mean to be indelicate, but I can’t help wondering if perhaps Dolly Parton is distanct kin? The link you posted to the suit you ordered is a snazzy D/DD cup suit, and seeing as how you’ve got those teeny tiny size 6 feet and all… I’m just wondering how you stay upright?! ;-)
ThanX for the fun giveaway. Please enter me for a chance to win.
April 11th, 2008 at 11:23 pmOh my, how I would love a new swimsuit! One with a skirt! That way, I wouldn’t have to lose 15 pounds to fit into the suit I currently own! PLEASE, let me win!!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:27 pmWow! What a deal! I hate swimsuit shopping so much, I usually wear the same one until it falls apart. But this is too much to resist.
Put me down for Item # 19314-9AJ8 in rich brown (do I have to state size publicly?) Thanks! Heidi
April 11th, 2008 at 11:30 pmThe boobage diXymiss, that’s the whole swimsuit problem for me. Most of the suits I’ve seen that accomodate the girls look like something your grandma would wear — that’s why I’m excited about the Lands Ends suits, they’re cute and functional. I envy the gals who can wear spaghetti straps.
April 11th, 2008 at 11:31 pmI’m so needing the Slender Tunic suit (in brown)! Baby #5 is due May 28 and I’d love to brave the pool in something with some support all the way around! For the last couple of years I’ve worn my Old Navy CUTE-but-MATERNITY crocheted tankini. Time for a change since I think I’ll be DONE being pregnant for good (barring divine intervention–literally)!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:38 pmI’m with you on that last comment. Ahem.
I’d choose the Beach Living Floral Adjustable Bandeau Tunic Swim Top but I have no idea which color because, well, can’t I have all three?
I may just have to buy one anyway, even if I don’t win. (Which, let’s be honest, is the most likely scenario.)
April 11th, 2008 at 11:41 pmwow, I could probably use a new suit… considering all the changes my body’s gone through in the last 2 years with having a baby! and they actually have nice ones!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:47 pmWow. Too many to choose from. They’re all so beautiful.
April 11th, 2008 at 11:51 pmI was just checking out their suits! They do look promising!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:51 pmI’m all about swimsuits that stay where they should and hide a multiple of sins, count me in!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:57 pmI could really use a new suit! I have a 5 month old baby which is amazing but…this body isn’t fitting into any suit that I own!!!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:00 amI need a new bathing suit so bad it’s absurd! I like the sport tankini…in the blue floral I think. But there are so many more I love.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:02 amOh-my-word-I-so-need-to-win!!!
Beside the fact that I’ve worn my current suit for over 12 years and 2 pregnancys it needs an update. Doesn’t that in and of itself qualify me to win?
April 12th, 2008 at 12:03 amI would be ordering the all over control swimsuit, because you know, after kids…you need that.
I was all set to bail on the contest re: posting our swimsuit clad bodies on your highly viewed site, until I read you were kidding. ;-Þ
I really like the swimsuit you chose. I don’t like the idea of going public in a swimsuit, but I do love to swim, and I think that swimsuit is awesome.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:21 amSuch cute stuff. I took one look at the Regular Original Sport Tankini and fell in love. There isn’t much to show off on this momma body and the tankini seems to hide it all!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:26 amThe one benefit to swimming with my kids now is, they are so darn cute that everyone is looking at them and not me. Or so I keep telling myself.
May I have the magic swimsuit, please? Thank you.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:36 amI do water aerobics once in a while so I like Women’s Regular Athletic Piped Tank Swimsuit.
Lots of fun suits there!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:58 amI love the damask floral v-neck halter top (in turquoise). Since I’m nursing a three-month-old right now, a new swimsuit is a must for this summer. I have to find something to hide this chest!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:58 amAnother nursin’ momma here hopin’ for a suit that suits the ta-tas! Thanks AM!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:07 amWith each choice a blue/black tanki showed up, but I can’t copy the link here. What fun!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:07 amOoh la la love the red for me, too! (Although a “C” cup will do just fine…sadly for my husband…lol)
April 12th, 2008 at 1:07 amVery cute suit! Enter me please!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:16 amOh another awesome contest! Well I definitely love the D-cup Slender Tunic Swimsuit in Blacikberry - beautiful! And I really will take a picture of myself in it if I win - honest! I’ll even send it to you & everything! Who wouldn’t look pretty darned OK in a suit like that, huh?
Thank you so much for a really fun contest, and thanks too for letting me take part! I really appreciate the Lands End website you directed us to - I think I have have found my best bet for a swim suit! Much love and God Bless
April 12th, 2008 at 1:53 amWow! I would love to win a swimsuit from Land’s End. I have to get a new suit this year and I’m dreading it! I really like the suit style that you’ve chosen and so I would probably do something like that. I’d have to go with black or navy though because I just don’t think red is going to do me any favors. I hope that my children realize that the only reason I would ever wear a swimsuit in public is because I love them so much!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:55 amI love Land’s End swimsuits! The sport tankini is my favorite, but yours is very cute!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:55 amYou will enjoy your new red swimsuit from Land’s End. They make a quality product. I would really like to have a new swimsuit (since I have NONE) I’d love to win this prize!
Betty in Oklahoma
April 12th, 2008 at 2:07 ami need one that sucks in the muffin top. i love the little skirts too. now i can take the spaghetti straps. no extra support needed here.
April 12th, 2008 at 2:44 amwhat a great givewaway!
Count me in! I need a decent swim suit this year for sure! Thanks!
April 12th, 2008 at 3:02 amWho couldn’t use a new bathing suit. I hate swim suit season! And it gets worse with age!
After reading all the comments, I’ll have to check out this year’s Land’s Ends suits.
April 12th, 2008 at 4:28 amMy dearest darlin’ daughter, with the figure of a 21 year old, would look amaxing in the Solid Convertable Swimdress, in grape. She loves these types of things, so I’m hoping to surprise her :)
April 12th, 2008 at 4:34 amOh AM, what a great giveaway! This is the first time I am entering one, ever… My Mum has a Lands End suit which she absolutely loves, and she looks fantastic in it. It’s getting a little shabby now, and if I surprise her with a new one? She will be over the moon! I EVEN have a U.S. Mailing address for stuff like this, so winning would be no stress!
April 12th, 2008 at 5:52 amI love the one you picked out!
April 12th, 2008 at 6:14 amI loved all all the suits, especially the ones with underwire, I hate the soft cup bra that the suit I have now has…
April 12th, 2008 at 6:17 amOooh, count me in. I need major help with the boobage, like maybe the DD one wouldn’t be enough even. Man, boobs are not all they’re cracked up to be, people.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:18 amThis would be wonderful! I haven’t had a new suit in years.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:57 amHmmm, I could use a magic suit that would A) maximize my petite boobage; B) cover the rear which my 3-year-old declares (accurately) is “big” and “icky because it has bumps”; and C) somehow make my permanently-looks-like-I’m-seven-months-pregnant big belly DISAPPEAR.
April 12th, 2008 at 7:18 amWow, this suit sounds like it will take care of everything! I definitely want one of those!
April 12th, 2008 at 7:25 amAfter losing my weight last year I have to find a new suit this summer and not looking forward to it. I have heard great things about Lands End and was thinking of trying one of theirs. I would love to win a gift card so please sign me up!
April 12th, 2008 at 7:51 amOOOH magic swimwuits! I would love one of those. One that takes off all of the Christmas cookies off of my thigh and tells me that I’m fun to hang out with along with it! How could I pass that up?
April 12th, 2008 at 8:05 amThe slender tunic one-piece in brown! I like the word slender in the title…gives me hope!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:14 amOooh me please! That post-partum belly won’t hide itself.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:15 amI’d love to start the season out in a new suit. I’ve had the same one for three seasons now, and although it’s still in pretty good shape, it would be nice to sport a new look!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:21 amPut my name in the hat!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:23 amI love that suit, too! The extra long top and stomach-sucking skirt are adorable. Count me in!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:41 amSwim mini to hide the ever-increasing behind and the halter top to boost the ever-decreasing boobage.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:44 amOhhh…..bathing suit season IS coming….isn’t it. I think the elastic in mine is past extinction. You can see how often I buy bathing suits….I guess it’s time, isn’t it?
April 12th, 2008 at 8:50 amWho wouldn’t want to sign up for this contest??? Count me in!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:54 amDid you notice the cover-up that goes with the suit you picked? Check it out. Since I can’t link to it in your comments, it is #28080-2R87 (or pg. 23 if you have the catalog).
Do my chances improve with the more comments I leave? ‘Cause I got all day baby!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:55 amWow, what a great contest. I would love a suit that does all those things you described.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:56 amDrop my name in the hat. I love your choice, I haven’t had a new suit in years.
April 12th, 2008 at 9:01 amCount me in! I love the Lands End suits. They at least TRY to make the whole experience pleasant! =)
April 12th, 2008 at 9:25 amAdd my name to the list! Although that photo comment made me pause for a minute. :)
April 12th, 2008 at 9:29 amOh please enter me in a drawing. Anything that will slim my thighs is a must. And tell me I’m funny? Bonus. Will it clean the kitchen too??
April 12th, 2008 at 9:30 amI LOVE the pink paisley tankini!!!!! Count me in!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:38 ami think you chose the cutest one. Enter me in your drawing because whether I win one or not I am buying.
April 12th, 2008 at 9:41 amOh my, do I need a new suit!! Yes indeed!! And Land’s End is my favorite clothing store! Thanks for the opportunity!!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:48 amOh, boy! I need a new suit!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:52 amOh, I’ve been wanted a LandsEnd swimsuit for a while now. Thanks for this opportunity!
April 12th, 2008 at 10:03 amOh Pick Me!! I just love their suits and the way they cover all that “baby” fat….
April 12th, 2008 at 10:08 amThrowing my name into the hat. Thanks.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:13 amI like the tankinis, but I’d probably go for the Women’s Solid Tugless Tank in vivid cobalt. I’m hoping to lose at least some of my baby weight before summer arrives in Chicago.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:15 amThat suit is cute! I was looking at the Lands End catalogue the other day when my teen daughter looked over my shoulder and said “That’s a cute dress.” I laughed because it’s really a swimsuit.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:15 amI like the one you picked out too. Red too.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:18 amI LOVE land’s end swimsuits! They’ve gotten better and better throughout the years. Sign me up. :)
April 12th, 2008 at 10:23 amI have lurked for a long time but you have one of my favorite blogs. You definitely don’t need a swimsuit to make you funny…I feel a definite kinship as I had my last son at 40 but I had my first son at 19 and a daughter at 27. A friend pointed out that I had children in three consecutive decades. My figure is a bit worse for wear and could really use the support. What a great idea.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:35 amLove the paisley tankini set!!! Thanks for the chance to win.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:49 amWow- looks like all the lurkers are coming out of the woodwork! (Present company included.) What a great thing for Lands End to do- I’ve loved their suits since I was in High School…unfortunately, that’s when I bought my last suit! Think it’s time for an update, after a few years and a few kids? (And a few pounds…:o)
April 12th, 2008 at 10:50 amWow, I didn’t know Land’s End had such great suits. Even if I don’t win, I’ll be getting one of these this summer!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:00 amThis is definitely something I’d like to win! Please count me in.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:03 amSo cute! And there are long-torso suits! Halleluia!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:04 amWould love a swimsuit! We are hoping to get an above-ground pool for the kid (and my sanity) this summer–which here in Texas, as you know, means NEXT WEEK.
I like what Land’s End has in the way of cute but covering, as I’m not a big fan of going out half naked. Even in the back yard. ;)
April 12th, 2008 at 11:08 amI love the giraffe print in rich brown!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:10 amKoy’a from Simplykoya gushed about you and I have been an avid reader ever since! Great blog! I’m on magical swimsuits like Lindsey Lohan on a stripper pole in rehab!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:15 amI love Land’s End suits. They keep getting better every year. I’d love to win and actually be able to get one! What a fun giveaway!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:17 amLove the one you’re ordering. I like it in the navy. Adorable. Let us know if it lives up to your high expectations! :-)
April 12th, 2008 at 11:17 amDoes begging and whining help? Cuz I am prepared to do so…
Please, please, please, please, please, puhhhlllleaaasseeeee.
That is just a start! Thanks for the chance to win.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:32 amI would love a new bathing suit…. My son is 2 months old and i tried on my bathing suit from last year and yeah i need a new one…..
April 12th, 2008 at 11:36 amI’m almost afraid to win this. I’ve been putting off buying a suit this year. The one you choose is really nice. I like the straps, they’ll help keep it on your shoulders. I’m not a skinny strap girl either.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:41 amI love lands end swim suits… and I would love to have a new one! It’s amazing what the right kind of suit can do for pretty much any kind of figure. Especially those that have been through childbirth!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:53 amWow! What a deal! I love the suit you picked out — too cute!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:09 pmWomen’s Regular All-over Control Solid Soft Cup Grecian V-neck Slender Swimsuit in Blackberry would be my choice! I’ve never had a Land’s End Suit, but I always hear that they have the best fit and styles for us “women-over-sixteen-years-of-age” types!
April 12th, 2008 at 12:53 pmI’ve needed to bite the bullet and pay for a Lands End suit for a long time now. I hear they are the best and my post-baby body needs the best. :) Thanks for the giveaway!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:02 pmOoh! I really like the colorful paisley tankini - cute and fun, with enough coverage for a plus-size girl like me! :-)
April 12th, 2008 at 1:04 pmPlease count me in! Lands End makes great suits and that one is adorable!! (Especially in navy) = ) Thanks!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:08 pmOh I would love a Lands End suit. However, they are not in my price range, so winning this would be more than fantastic.
April 12th, 2008 at 1:09 pmI’ve been drooling over the Lands End website for weeks. Can’t seem to push the button to purchase. Winning would certainly help :)
April 12th, 2008 at 1:24 pmLand’s End suits are the best!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:34 pmThis would be so great….I haven’t bought a new suit in years.
April 12th, 2008 at 1:38 pmI am tempting blog-karma by attempting to win for a second time on your bog — but I’m a gambler that way! I do love a Land’s End suit and hear that they are worth every penny you pay for them, but I’ve never ventured ‘in those waters’, if you will! :-) Either way, you will look so fab in your red suit!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:40 pmHow cute is the little Women’s Regular Side-tie Tankini Swimsuit?! It looks like a tank top… a for real, boobage supporting tank top. I’m in!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:42 pmBeings I have LOTS to cover up…I’d love a “wonder working” Land’s End swimsuit!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:55 pmI love their swimsuits almost as much as I love your blog. I surely need a suit, since I left all of mine in Florida when we came home. This is a cool way to advertise their suits —- through someone we trust!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:56 pmHa! I was JUST looking at suits at the mall today!
April 12th, 2008 at 1:58 pmThought I would wait til they started putting them on sale but a free one is WAYYY better.
Think I can find one with leggings( as the skirted ones dont cover enough sins anymore)? :)
Hi! I would love to win a new swim suit! I am trying to get in shape for the summer so what a treat it would be! Enter me please!
April 12th, 2008 at 2:06 pmLOVE lands end suits….I also love their modest tankini’s for girls…very hard to find these days.
April 12th, 2008 at 2:20 pmDear Antique Mommy:
Thank you for holding this fabulous contest. I would be estatic if I wone a swim suit. Please enter me in the drawing. Heck, I’ll even promise to take a picture for your blog if it would give me a double entry. :-) The suit I love the most is the skirtini in black with white edging. It is suppose to be for us triangular girls. Thank you! Angela @ Becoming Me.
April 12th, 2008 at 2:32 pmSince you will not post the pic, please enter me for a suit. The one you picked is cute. I, too, noticed the D cup. Sounds like you are blessed with more than great writing ability. I continue to absolutely love reading your blog and appreciate your sharing of your faith, loving insights, and humor. I only read one other blog (because I know that person.) I’ve clicked into lots of others, and yours is the only one I have continued to read. That’s because it’s fabulous. Now don’t let that go to your head– or anyplace else– the suit wouldn’t fit. Glad Sean is doing OK. Thanks!
April 12th, 2008 at 2:34 pmI think I would go with a V-Neck top and the swim shorts!
April 12th, 2008 at 2:41 pmI love Land’s End bathing suits…must win gift card…
April 12th, 2008 at 2:59 pmI already entered this contest, so please don’t reenter me, but I wanted to let you know that I posted a blurb about it on my personal blog. If you’d like the link, just send me an e-mail and I’ll give you the details.
April 12th, 2008 at 3:04 pmI love the Paisley Tankini. It’s so bright!
April 12th, 2008 at 3:05 pmPlease enter me! They actually have plus size swim suits that are not mumus.
April 12th, 2008 at 3:08 pmI am in active denial that we are reaching swimsuit season….LALALALALALALAAAAAAA…..nonononoooo….*runs to get on treadmill…gets distracted by box of doughnuts on counter…*
April 12th, 2008 at 3:22 pmWow. What a great choice!!!!!!
I ‘think’ I would go with the Women’s Regular 3-piece Lily Fleur Tankini in the blue/black pattern.
Nice to see some suits that the ‘normal’ woman wouldn’t fall out of!!!!!
I’d love to win one of these!
April 12th, 2008 at 3:26 pmOh, how I’d love a Lands End swim suit! Thanks for offering it. And a special thanks for not making the winner take a picture in it. : )
April 12th, 2008 at 3:30 pmI ordered a suit from there last year. I really like it. Being able to try it on a virtual model really helped me.
You suit looks cute. I think I need another one for this year. Pick me! Pick me!
April 12th, 2008 at 3:32 pmOh a suit to tell me I’m funny and not just people laughing at me! I want a chain-link in blue.
April 12th, 2008 at 3:36 pmI love their suits. I have two from before I had my 7yr old that I haven’t fit back into yet (ahem) So a new one would be great :)
April 12th, 2008 at 3:37 pmA Lands’ End swimsuit! That’s worth a comment! I’m just a blog reader, not a blog writer (nobody would read it - except maybe my kids), but I enjoy yours! My youngest child is 17 and I sometimes wish I’d had another. This is ending too quick… but I know I don’t want to start over again at 51! I admire you.
April 12th, 2008 at 3:46 pmI love land’s end suits! My daughter has a rash guard two piece and I have two of their suits. They are made well and are so cute, too!
April 12th, 2008 at 3:56 pmI love their suits but they are too expensive for my pocketbook. Count me in!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:06 pmOh, I love Land’s End suits! I splurged on one a years ago, but as others have mentioned, my body has stretched, sagged, and widened in the years since having my two kids. I keep putting off getting a nice one again thinking I should wait to shell out the bucks until my “real” body comes back. I think it may be time to accept that this is it.
April 12th, 2008 at 4:07 pmLand’s End suits rock! I have one from before my baby and need to get a new one this year. They have tons of cute ones to choose from!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:20 pmI like the high neck slender suit Item # 16651-3AJ3 and the banded colorblock Item # 19324-0AJX
April 12th, 2008 at 4:29 pmLove the red suit, it looks PERFECT on you!!! Amazing I might even add!
:)
I’ve got my eye on a suit too, so draw my name, please!
From another “antique mommy” of three kidzles!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:35 pmI love their suits. Love being able to order top and bottom different to “suit” me, and love their swim shorts. Definitely would love to win!!!!!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:35 pmHmm. I guess it’s about time I think about this, since we’ll likely be doing swim lessons for the first time this year, which means Mommy in the water! eek.
Glad you linked that. I think I’d go with the Floral Adjustable Bandeau Tunic.
April 12th, 2008 at 4:54 pmI’m all about covering, lifting, and making myself funney when all I really feel is tired!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:56 pmLands Ends suits are GREAT! Thanks for the perfect excuse to do some online shopping!
April 12th, 2008 at 4:56 pmFabuloso! I always think to myself, “Once I lose this baby weight (my baby is almost 7) I’ll splurge on a Lands End suit.” But hey, Carpe Diem, right?
April 12th, 2008 at 5:12 pmI like the one you are getting best. Sign me up for the drawing please!
April 12th, 2008 at 5:16 pmYes, Yes, YES!!!! I SOOOO need the suit. I have always loved Lands End suits, but didn’t get one last year. MY HUGE MISTAKE. This year I’ve lost 33 and 1/2 pounds and MUST get a suit that will flatter. Put my name in the hat.
April 12th, 2008 at 5:37 pmI have a beach trip comming up in 45 days - and I still have no suit. I also haven’t lost the weight I told myself I would. Time is going to come weather I like it or not and a nice Lands End suit would be wonderful. Thanks
April 12th, 2008 at 5:38 pmOoh, ooh, congratulations! My mother has told me for YEARS that these suits are the ONLY ones worth buying. Unfortunately, I’ve just about exceeded the stretch limit of my last one, and…I need this one: Women’s Regular 3-piece Dot Paisley Halter Tugless Tankini (in pink!!)
Your suit is adorable, by the way!
April 12th, 2008 at 5:40 pmMirror, Mirror on the wall
where’s the most see-through spot of all?
Elastic must decompose when mixed with sun-tan lotion, chlorine, sea-salt, & sweat (from building all those towering sand castles). Apparently the straps don’t like being repeatedly yanked off for poolside feedings either.
Carolyn.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:05 pmThanks for the link to some magic bathing suits. Please enter me into your contest. My suit has seen better days and is ready for retirement. Thanks, Sharon M.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:06 pmI like the Women’s Regular 3-piece Lily Fleur Tankini. It is so cute. I love the little skirt.

April 12th, 2008 at 6:07 pm3cookieday@gmail.com
Um, this is the first time I’ve been here…drawn to the word “antique” and now I feel all guilty because there’s a contest. Just getting used to the idea of contests. Oh, and the bathing suit. I will go and see which one you’re getting. Myself, I wish pantaloons and long sleeves were still in style at the beach. You know, like the 1920’s. I’d skip the bathing cap, though. I imagine it’d be itchy.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:28 pmLove the suit that hides the thighs! Fantastic!
April 12th, 2008 at 6:38 pmNothing but having to get a swimsuit would make me want to shirk my blog name as quickly. I’ve wanted a Land’s End swimsuit for a very long time and hope to do so with or without the gift card this season. Yet, given the prize, I would choose something in brown and aqua with a swim mini for sure. Thanks for hosting, AM.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:43 pmYou terrify me . . . and yet I’m drawn in like a mini-cyclone over a bathtub drain!! Count me in - cellulite and all.
April 12th, 2008 at 6:53 pmI got my first women’s size 2 years back. When I was in the beach last summer, my boobs came out. That was not at all embarassing. They have a petite one in Lands end which looks great. Womens crossroads V neck skirtini.
I wish I would win it.
April 12th, 2008 at 7:11 pmCount me in and add a staff member from Lands End to operate the crank to get my butt in the suit…
April 12th, 2008 at 7:13 pmI have been looking all over for a bathing suit! Please count me in! I love the pink paisley tankini. Thank you!
April 12th, 2008 at 7:36 pmOooh, this one is very glamorous, for those of us who, being plus-sized, don’t feel very glamorous.
Women’s 16W-26W Solid Contrast Soft Cup V-neck Skirtini
Love IT!
April 12th, 2008 at 7:44 pmThanks for the contest!
I love Lands End suits! I think I stopped breathing for a moment when I read the part about posting a photo of the winner in the winning suit.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:15 pmAs long as you hold true to not requiring a photo…I LOVE Lands’ End suits! I’m a fan of the Batik floral halter top.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:19 pmI would love to win the gift card so that I could buy a nice bathing suit. They all seem to be pretty and well made.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:26 pmThanks for having this great giveaway! I love the Slender Tunic!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:31 pmIt’s shameless, but what the heck, I could use a free suit. :-) Although my daughter is currently going through the “I hate water” phase. I’ll be lucky if I can get her into the bath, let alone the pool! :-) Thanks for the giveaway!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:31 pmI have been coveting the Lands End Swimwear collection. I want the one with a skirt. And promises to take 15 pounds/years off of me. And I’m with you. RED!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:32 pmCount ME IN!!
April 12th, 2008 at 8:46 pmI like the skirty thigh-hiders myself. :)
April 12th, 2008 at 8:57 pmI think I’d get the Women’s Regular 3-piece Colorful Paisley Tankini. they’ve get great suits!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:00 pmOh I would love one =)))
April 12th, 2008 at 9:03 pmI was hoping for a body suit so that I’d never have to shave my legs again. But, since I couldn’t find any of those, the Solid Contrast Soft Cup V-neck Skirtini (black/white) will have to do.
April 12th, 2008 at 9:08 pmOh no, it won’t cut and paste. I like the lily fluer or whatever it’s called. It’s a three piece tankini and my dh says I’d like the red one though I’m thinking I might like the navy one. Though this is a random drawing I think I should win. I bought my current swimming suit probably 7 years and 5 pregnancies ago. Needless to say it doesn’t fit quite right in some places! :)
April 12th, 2008 at 9:14 pmOh, I love your choice! I’m having a hard time deciding which suit says “me”.
April 12th, 2008 at 9:17 pmOh. My. Gah! That’s adorable!
Count me in!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:51 pmWow, contests sure bring out the lurkers, huh? Count me in…as a contestant and as a lurker!
April 12th, 2008 at 9:57 pmGoodness. Where did all the comments come from?
so many cute suits, but I think I will go with this one:
April 12th, 2008 at 10:14 pmWomen’s Regular 3-piece Lily Fleur Tankini.
I’m leaving on a cruise next Sat.- a gift from my sister. A new swimming suit would just be the frosting on the cake. I might not have to hide under my beach cover up the whole time! I wish I had looked at the Land’s End suits sooner……..
April 12th, 2008 at 10:19 pmCustom Paisley Tankini–love that blue!
April 12th, 2008 at 10:33 pmMy post baby swimsuit comes from Land’s End. It is the best swimsuit ever, but it doesn’t tell me I’m funny.
April 12th, 2008 at 10:33 pmI hope I’m the “big winner”–appropriate adjective for my 6-month post-partum figure!
April 12th, 2008 at 10:37 pmI think LE is the only place I’ve found swimsuits for several “mommy” years now. Thanks for making me go ahead and take a look for a new one. I’ve been putting it off. And as much as I tried to like something else, I do believe I will have to get the same suit you’re getting (different color - a hopeful slimming black one). Yes, no spaghetti straps here, either…
April 12th, 2008 at 10:58 pmWhat I wouldn’t do for a new bathing suit that hides all the areas I dislike!! I hope I win!!!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:02 pmThose are all so cute! I would love to win a new swimsuit.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:02 pmI love Land’s End suits. Several years ago, I found one that looked great on me. I bought 2, so I wouldn’t have to shop for swim suits for a long, long time.
They still look wonderful after probably 4 years.
Great give-away.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:08 pmWOW! A swimsuit that tells you how funny you are not how funny you look!!! Such a deal!
I’m in for the drawing!!
http://www.swirlgirlspearls.blogspot.com
April 12th, 2008 at 11:09 pmDo they have any nursing swim suits? I need one that not only makes my legs look smaller, supports my butt, hides my kangaroo pouch, and have the quick-drop top for a hungry baby to gain access to food.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:23 pmMy last bathing suit was a Land’s End. I just had to throw it away this year. I’d love a new one!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:36 pmI love Land’s End bathing suits!! I need a new one badly!
April 12th, 2008 at 11:39 pmPlease post a pic of yourself in that one ;) And please enter me in the contest! Thanks.
April 12th, 2008 at 11:43 pmI’m in!!! The three-piece colorful paisley tankini!! Thanks!
April 13th, 2008 at 12:09 amWow! The giveaways sure bring in the comments! And what a giveaway! I know you are trim and athletic from reading your blog, so I think you should post a picture of yourself lounging by the pool in your cute, new, red suit! I like Solid Ruched V-neck Tankini in brown, please. Happy Summer (almost!)
April 13th, 2008 at 12:42 amI have had my swimsuit for 5 years now and decided last week I can’t possible go another season with it and had already picked out a landsend suit I liked. It is the same patterns as your choice but with the double strap top in the navy.
April 13th, 2008 at 1:29 amLove the suit. What a fun contest. I’m in Florida and the dreaded swim suit season is upon us already!
April 13th, 2008 at 3:30 amI just received the Land’s End catalog this past week and have been looking at all the lovely suits that have little skirts to cover up my…well, you know. I would love to win that card so I can order one!
April 13th, 2008 at 7:49 amHmmm. A furlough year coming up and I haven’t bought a swimsuit in… let’s see… 25 years. Yep, it’s true. I can still sorta squeeze into it too! But I do like that women’s slender tunic in black. In the other one I look like an easter egg with legs.
April 13th, 2008 at 9:09 amOOO!! pick me! I would love a Land’s End suit. I haven’t had a new one in YEARS. Great give away!
April 13th, 2008 at 9:40 amI own a swimsuit from Land’s End similar to the one you are ordering and I LOVE IT!! When I wear it, I can just focus on having fun and not what I look like! I would love to have another suit to broaden my swimsuit options! Thank you!!
April 13th, 2008 at 9:59 amI am hoping they can do miracles….
April 13th, 2008 at 10:29 amYay Land’s End! I am a TALL girl (6′2″) and it is so nice to find swimsuits for long torsos. I am liking the Women’s Long Torso Slender Tunic Swimsuit in brown. So exciting!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:42 amWomen’s Regular Crossroads V-neck Skirtini says it’s fo a triangle figure, which is not an accurate description of my body. (Lord knows what is!) However, I think looks terrific. Keep us posted about the wisdom of ordering a suit you don’t try on. Of course that has tremnedous appeal. Who likes bathing suit shopping? Please enter me in the drawing for miracles.
April 13th, 2008 at 11:28 amI’m due to give birth to my 3rd any day now. so a new swimsuit ( the slenderizing kind) would be wonderful. Please enter me.
April 13th, 2008 at 12:16 pmThank you!!
Oh, I really need a new suit in the worse way!! And it’s getting warm enough to use here. Please enter me in the drawing and thank you so much!
April 13th, 2008 at 1:51 pmCarolyn
I’ve always wanted to try Lands End suits, but haven’t found the cash yet!! I also need to hoist up the girls!!
April 13th, 2008 at 2:09 pmYour new suit is beautiful! May I enter your contest, please and thank you? 0:-)
April 13th, 2008 at 4:16 pmI love Lands End bathing suits! Since hubby and I have a trip planned in June for our anniversary, this would be so perfect!
April 13th, 2008 at 4:44 pmI love the suit you chose! I want one! I hope to win!
April 13th, 2008 at 4:46 pmI love the Land’s End virtual swimsuit models. I’ll be trying on the suits while you decide on the winner.
April 13th, 2008 at 4:49 pmI would love a chance to win a swimsuit and to read more of your blog.
April 13th, 2008 at 4:49 pmI’ve always wanted to try one of their swim suits!
April 13th, 2008 at 5:29 pmI like the pastel paisley get-up they have on the first page. . .AND the tugless tanks. . .and the shirred reef print tugless tank–very cute.
April 13th, 2008 at 6:03 pmWhat fun! I’d love a new suit for this summer, and I’ve always heard about how good the Land’s End suits are! Thanks! And the link to yours is very cute, I like the red!!
April 13th, 2008 at 6:10 pmI love Land’s End suits…they cover as much as a swimsuit can (although I’d really like one of the suits from the 1920s, when EVERYTHING was covered!) Even if I don’t win, thanks for the PIN for free shipping…I scored on their overstocks today! Woo-hoo!
April 13th, 2008 at 6:19 pmI think I’m too late but I hope not!
Just had to click in and ask…
April 13th, 2008 at 6:58 pmso are you graduating from “towel mom” to “tankini mom”???? :)
Yes, please!! Please enter me in your drawing for a new swim suit!
April 13th, 2008 at 7:36 pmI SO need a new suit for this summer — Thanks, AM!
April 13th, 2008 at 7:41 pmOoooh! I absolutely love all the Lands End suits! I would love the pink paisley one with the skirt. have to have that!
April 13th, 2008 at 8:16 pmI need! I went water skiing on the weekend and my swimmers definately need retiring!
April 13th, 2008 at 8:45 pmI loved the tankini with the skirt! I really
April 13th, 2008 at 8:47 pmneed to get something for this season, of course
I also need to lose some more poundages! LOL!
I would love to win!
Ok, I am so happy about this! I have my Lands End catalog all dog eared and marked up trying to decide which swimming suit is my favorite! This is perfect for me. :) Thank you!!
April 13th, 2008 at 8:56 pmI have lost 65 pounds and need a swimsuit to celebrate!
April 13th, 2008 at 9:00 pmI wonder if Land’s End offers airbrushing along with their swimsuits?
April 13th, 2008 at 9:22 pmI have been lusting over their swim suits for years. Hard to shell out that much money for something you can only wear during the summer! Count me in on the drawing! And thanks for pointing out a swimsuit with adequate support! I keep saying that I am going to make my millions by selling swim suits for well-endowed women!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:05 pmGood taste! I love skirt suits since becoming a Twinz Mama ;) that is a skirt with the Tankini top. Perfect. I love the navy and white.
April 13th, 2008 at 10:20 pmOOOH! I just got the catalog and I would so love a gift certificate for an amazing bathing suit. I had my first baby in December via c-section and try as I might to love the body that gave me, it’s hard! (But he is worth every inch of that scar.)
April 13th, 2008 at 10:26 pmI have had several bathing suits from Land’s End and they have all held up so well. I would love a new one!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:36 pmLOVE Lands End AND Antique Mommy! (not necessarily in that order…) Count me in please!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:50 pmI see quite a few I’d like to try out. I haven’t bought a new swimsuit in years!!!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:52 pmI really need a new swimsuit, and I’ve heard good things about the Land’s End ones… this would be so SWEET to win! :)
April 13th, 2008 at 10:52 pmThanks for the giveaway! I’ll be awaiting your “YOU’VE WON!” email.
Wow! 158 comments! It looks like us girls really want a new swimsuit! I always enjoy your posts and check it almost daily. I really should be better about commenting, however, since you don’t know me, I tend to just read and move on. Nothing like a giveaway though to bring me out of the wood-work. Thanks for doing this! It could be fun!
April 13th, 2008 at 10:53 pmWhat a great time to do this, my birthday is on the 16th. and, I checked out your suit. I can’t believe you are a D cup. :) but if you are, good for you, lol
April 13th, 2008 at 11:06 pmHi! Visiting via a link from “Notes from a Cottage Industry” blog!
I have a Lands End suit heading my way, I am hoping I ordered the right size! I got the multicolored paisleyesque print, I am hoping it distracts from a multitude of sins!
Laurie S.
April 13th, 2008 at 11:36 pmCan I say that I just went to Lands End to check my shopping bag again before I started reading blogs, and am still calculating what I can sell to get this momma of 3 a new, non maternity swimsuit? Free would be so much better then having to sell all my kids possessions on craigslist, right? :-) Lands End is the only place I can find w/quality suits that will not make any grandpas at the pool kill over when I bend down to pick up my little ones. Let’s just say I’ve been blessed more in some areas that are hard to cover with most swimsuits. I truly need the Beach Living Floral V-neck Swim Top & Swim Mini!
April 13th, 2008 at 11:42 pmAlright - I gotta enter this contest. Since I know I have a body made up of about THREE different sizes it would be so nice to get something that just might actually fit - and tell me I’m funny as well!
April 13th, 2008 at 11:54 pmY’all are so earnest. If I were Oprah, I’d buy every single one of you a swimming suit.
April 13th, 2008 at 11:55 pmMany cute suits…I actually really like the one you chose, except perhaps in navy and with the mini skirt option. The better to hide my cottage cheese thighs! :) But I’ll have to save it and wear it next summer since I’ll be pregnant all summer this year!
April 14th, 2008 at 12:22 amI’ve been eyeing a Land’s End suit for years now. That one is really cute! :)
Oh - I hope I win the GC too - lol
April 14th, 2008 at 2:48 amWow. Those swimsuits really are cute. Please enter my name in your drawing.
April 14th, 2008 at 8:01 amI love the swimsuits. It would be hard to pick just one.
April 14th, 2008 at 8:06 amI love all of them. And I need a new suit badly.
April 14th, 2008 at 8:45 amI have lost some weight, but I still need a GOOD quality suit to hold everything UP and in place. Thanks for the contest!
April 14th, 2008 at 9:24 amCount me in,too.
April 14th, 2008 at 9:36 amI know I have a bizarre sense of humor, but after I checked out your swimsuit choice all I can now think of is you swaddled in chainlink - like the fence. I will try to think of it as a geometric design instead.
Oh, I need a new swimsuit! I really like the “Women’s Short Torso All Over Control Solid Softcup Grecian Vneck Slender Swimsuit” in agave. Whew… that is a long name, huh? This one sounds like it would really hold everything in… just what I need! Thank you :)
April 14th, 2008 at 9:42 amI’m not ready yet for the swimsuit season, but am in need of a new suit. Thanks for all you great humor.
April 14th, 2008 at 9:56 amI love, love, love the paisley tankini in all the bright colors. I would have to order that if I were to win. I love Land’s End swim suits! Thanks for a great giveaway!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:27 amI would choose the Grecian V neck slimsuit in black. It’s totally gorgeous and looks like it would make me look slimmer! Thanks for the great giveaway!!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:28 amLand’s End is such an awesome swimsuit store!
I’d probably let my DD17 pick one out since she is super modest and can never find what she likes in the store.
And my old suits will still be good for another season at least
Mrs N
April 14th, 2008 at 10:30 amSwim suit season always scares me. I typically don’t even by one. But I look better this year than I have since Thing1 was born. Maybe this is just the kick in the pants that I need.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:30 amThat’s a beautiful suit, and I know you’ll be drop dead gorgeous in it!
Thank you for the giveaway…please sign me up! All their suits are beautiful, but I’m still hoping to find one with hidden winches and pulleys at this point…
April 14th, 2008 at 10:31 amOooooh, lemme’ tell ya. I love, love, love Land’s End. You cannot beat the quality. I love the suit you chose, too. I ordered nearly the same, with the tie behind halter and the swim skirt is a MUST-HAVE for my aging, hail-damaged, turnin’ 39-year-old upper thighs. I hope I win. I need another one, maybe a “butt-lifting” one?? I’m sure they make one. They make everything. Yeah L.E.!!!!! THanks A.M.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:34 amAfter spending entirely too long looking for the one I like, I’m going with the Women’s Regular 3-piece Dot Paisley Halter Tugless Tankini… anything that could help cover my tummy is a GOOD THING!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:39 amI am in dire need of a new swimsuit–all the trying on and the crying keep me from doing it. Maybe if they tell me what I need to buy I can find one that looks great.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:45 amDelurking here. I could use a great swimsuit! enter me please!
April 14th, 2008 at 11:00 amHi, I’m a reader of yours for a few months (? time escapes me) and a first time commenter! I figured, hey -why not, I could get a free suit! I live in a beach town and therefore am in a constant state of quandry in the summer: love the beach, hate wearing a bathing suit. Usually I just decide that I live in a kind of invisible shield and that no one is really looking at me and I can carry my bodyboard to strategically cover me in places that I don’t want ANYone to see if they happen to glance and get through my forcefield. It’s worked for me so far, I love to bodyboard so I’m not going to let a silly thing like pride keep me from going in! If Land’s End carries plus sizes, then please consider me for the gift card! =)
April 14th, 2008 at 11:04 amoh, and I found you from my friend Ainsley’s blog: restonbaby.com
=)
April 14th, 2008 at 11:05 amYaaah swimsuit season, that lovely time of year when we more seasoned and more interiorly beautiful ladies get to walk around the neighborhood pool with teenage girls…. Yuck!
April 14th, 2008 at 11:10 amWomen’s D-cup Beach Living Chainlink V-neck Swim Top. Nuff said.
April 14th, 2008 at 11:13 amAlthough I am not excited about swimsuit season, I hope that getting a new suit would make me feel better about the whole thing!
April 14th, 2008 at 11:14 amOh! Oh! Randomly choose me! I need a new suit. All of my suits now have “fuzzy butt” from sitting on the concrete for years. Help a sister out!
April 14th, 2008 at 11:35 amI can’t pick with all this pressure!!! But please sign me up (and absolutely no to the pic).
April 14th, 2008 at 11:51 amI had a baby 12 days ago, so this post struck more than a little fear in this nursing mama’s heart. I was actually just looking at the new Land’s End catalogue, wishing that I could afford a nice new suit that could help control the girls!
April 14th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
