Blogging: The Next Best Thing To Prozac
June 6, 2008 | Uncategorized
First the scientists discover that dark chocolate and red wine are good for you and now blogging! Sign me up to be a guinnea pig for those studies! My friend Jeremiah, who actually IS a scientist, sent me this link from Scientific American about why blogging is good for you.
Have a great weekend y’all!

Thank you for affirming yet another of my, obsessions, I mean habits. Pretty soon you’ll be telling us that gummy bears contain antioxidants. Won’t that be swell?
June 6th, 2008 at 3:05 pmWell duh.
Where else can you rage/whine/preach/exhort/extoll/put your two cents in/talk about your mother-in-law issues/ask the big “why am I here” questions FOR FREE!!
I mean what is the going hourly rate for a shrink these days? I bet it’s at least as much as a tank of gas!!!
June 6th, 2008 at 4:25 pmNow my life is complete! ;-Þ
June 6th, 2008 at 4:40 pmWhoo hoo!
Now I just need a scientist to say it is good for me to spend mucho time each day reading blogs and not doing all the work I should be doing.
June 6th, 2008 at 5:26 pmAM, I enjoy reading your blog so much. I started the archives a while ago, and I’m on March 2006, and savoring every minute of it!! I’m not a mommy, nor am I antique, but your posts are ageless. Please never stop!
June 6th, 2008 at 5:49 pmFantastic! We knew it all along, didn’t we?
June 6th, 2008 at 5:52 pmWell, duh. They sure used an awful lot of big words to explain what we already knew.
June 6th, 2008 at 8:46 pmThanks for the link!
June 6th, 2008 at 8:58 pmWhat? No. Blogging is a serious addiction, and you are an Enabler. You just enabled all of your blogging readers. FOR SHAME. (And thank you! I needed another excuse for bloggig, myself.) ;)
June 6th, 2008 at 11:00 pmAmen! not that I needed justification, but there you have it. Did I say Amen?!
June 7th, 2008 at 10:28 amThis is rich! I had to post about it too. Great news!
June 7th, 2008 at 10:42 amOh good. Now I can save money and cancel all my prescriptions.
June 7th, 2008 at 11:29 amThose wacky scientists and their studies. They’re always a few steps behind us, aren’t they?
June 7th, 2008 at 5:00 pmBlogging WHILE eating dark chocolate and drinking red wine, now THAT is stress relief.
So glad to hear I am so healthy! Interesting study. :)
June 8th, 2008 at 12:10 amOh, this is good news. I’ve just finally started one this weekend.
June 8th, 2008 at 12:26 amI must be the healthiest person alive! Like RIGHT. THIS. SECOND! Guess what I’md doing right now? Eating dark chocolate macadamia nuts, while sipping red wine and writing/reading blogs!
Since I’m not really all that healthy, I guess it’s really scary to think how dead I would be if not for dark chocolate, red wine & blogging.
:)
I did note that the scientists neglected to mention the problem w/blogging into the wee hours of the night/ which might make you able to sleep better, it prevents you from the actual sleeping itself.
June 8th, 2008 at 1:11 amI knew there was a reason I did it - thanks for the link. :)
June 8th, 2008 at 6:18 amIt is good for me, however- it was not so good when my husband’s family sought it out and read it. Damn.
June 8th, 2008 at 2:57 pmGreat link!
Totally convincing - now I have evidence for those family members who don’t see the benefits of blogging . . .
June 9th, 2008 at 12:07 pmI always saw it as free therapy. Now I have proof!
June 9th, 2008 at 2:51 pmYAY! Permission! Documented proof that it is beneficial!
Could we just change the above to MILK chocolate, WHITE wine and blogging?
Then I’d be all set!
