So, last night while making dinner, my husband (we’re newlyweds 6 months in the making) and I were making small talk while I cooked and he studied. Somehow we got on the subject of blogs and I began to explain that I found the recipe I was making from the blog Days to Come and that I knew Days to Come from Antique Mommy who I found through Todd Miller’s Moving Forward blog. He followed me until I hit “Antique Mommy” and then his face blanched a bit. (We’re on the no-children-for-4-years-plan but that’s never a guarantee and he’s still a little (well, so am I) squirmy about having children). Anywho, I think he freaked out a bit when I told him I was reading a “mommy” blog. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy a bit of glee watching the blood drain from his face.

What would you call younger mommas? Antique Mommy is such a cute term that I want one of my own. I married years before all of my friends and they called me a child bride (I wasn’t – it was right after college graduation, that’s just what happens when you go to college in NYC). When I had my first baby, they called me crazy. They’re flipping out now that I’m expecting twins. I guess it’s never easy being the first or the last.
BTW, I do have a tatoo, but I think my tankini days are over.

I was trying to rock my 8 month old grand-daughter to sleep and she wasn’t one bit happy with that idea until my sister-in-law took her…snuggled that baby next to her “fleece” top and had her to sleep in no time at all. It was like magic! So, if anyone out there will be rocking a baby any time soon, that is my “hint” for the day…wear fleece tops!
