  • Sometimes This Old Internet Thing Is A Good Deal

    April 8, 2009

Last week, one of my readers commented on this post that she had three boxes of fast food toys in her garage and that it would make her very happy if I would take them off her hands.

After a few email exchanges, it turns out that she is practically a neighbor, so we met at local park on a beautiful spring day to make the exchange.

But even better than that, she has a delightful little boy just about Sean’s age and they played and played and had the best time ever.  And that makes my heart sing to see my child enjoying the company of kind, polite and well-mannered children.

Thank you so much Ann for the toys and for going to the trouble to get them to me and for bringing along your little sidekick!

Serendipity! Goodness seeks and finds goodness. As does creativity. Holy Spirit pheromones. Or something like that. . . Enjoy the randomness of grace.

What a great treat, for all four of you, and the sweet little ones who will receive the toys! I’ve started a little bag in the back of the van and am looking for a good organization in my area…if I can’t find one, my two would probably like to drive all the way to TX just to get in on that awesome playground ;-) Happy Easter!

I got to meet one of my bloggy friends who was in town from Michigan last week. No kids or fun exchanges involved, but it was awesome to connect in person. Now I feel like I have a real and not just a virtual friend.

Without you sharing last week’s “incident” with the McD toys, you would never had met up and had such a lovely time :)

WOW i want to go to that playground!!!
We are going to be looking for someone/thing in our area who needs those lil toys as well.
I agree Harry Jacks Mom, my boys would also be willing to go all the way to TX for a park like that.
God is good and used that little toy to create a lot more good.

We’ve got some great playgrounds around here. And we love to go to them, but in another month it will mostly be too hot until the leaves begin to fall again.

You might mention to Sean how God used that toy that he put into that ziplock baggie and his honest sorrow and repentance, his tender heart to do the right thing which compelled you to write about it – to bring in such a bounty of toys AND a new good friend. Not a coincidence I don’t think. What a wonderful Romans 8:28 situation. Thanks you so much for sharing this update AM!

You just had yourself a successful playdate! I agree with the previous poster who called it ‘serendipitous’ though. So often the best encounters can’t be planned, they ‘just happen.’
