After judging her Write Away contest for the month of April, Scribbit, the loveliest of all Alaskans, asked if she could interview me. I am powerless to say no to Scribbit. And couldn’t seem to resist the opportunity to navel gaze a little bit. You may read the interview here if you would like.
While you are there, check out her new eBook “Blogging in Pink” written especially for women bloggers – and it’s free. She also has a fantastic newsletter, also free, that is loaded with lots of good stuff that you won’t want to miss. Scrib is all about giving and I love that about her.

Michelle at Scribbit says:
Well it appears that we’re part of the “mutual admiration society” as my Mom says
It’s just something she says that cracks me up but I think it’s applicable here. Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions.

I loved the interview. Scribbit is another one of my favorite blog reads…solid writing but also very balanced with content and emotion…much like your blog.
Although you answered all of the questions well, I think my favorite response was when you stated
“My prayer is that the tremendous amount of love I have for my child will cover over the myriad of mistakes I will make as a parent on any given day. That’s what I pray for anyway.”
That is my prayer too.

Great interview! I was really heartened to read that you’re finding your blog to be adapting as your son gets older. I’m eagerly anticipating the journey as Sean continues to grow, and your life continues to evolve.

“I would go through it all again ten times over to be where I am today and who I am today. In a way, I feel sorry for those who have never had their boat rocked because it is the darkest and most uncertain moments of life that bring you face to face with your own frail humanity and powerlessness. There is a certain wisdom and blessing that comes from being so completely emptied, a truth so beautifully told in the book of Job.”
You speak right to my heart. I’m glad I found your blog.
…and I still think you should run for president.

That interview was great! I’m happy to have stumbled upon your blog a while back. I love your writing, and your words have been an inspiration for me. I’m a young mother of 4, and I believe in motherhood there’s no age. No matter our stage in life, what motherhood can do for us as women depends on our attitude and desire to start each day open minded, regarding our kids as a gift from Heaven.

That was a great interview! I enjoyed getting a glimpse more into your life, your thoughts, and what would be a great day of pampering!
Thanks for sharing. And sometime, I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on the boundary line for your writing that has emerged as Sean has gotten older. Thankful for you!

Loved the interview. Wow- you talk like you write. Very real but extremely well- spoken. And I laughed about Scrib’s comment as we have a Mutual Admiration Society in my family too.

“I think of the trials of my life, those that you mention, as sort of these gritty wind storms that have swept through and chiseled me into who I am.”
What a great comment. Thank you.

AM, I keep coming back to read your blog and the answers to all those good questions are the reason why.
“There is a certain wisdom and blessing…”especially resonates. I know that feeling. I have witnessed the undeveloped backbones of those with fairy tale lives when the witch or the ogre came knocking at their door. Sometimes I can actually “feel” the gift of wisdom that I have learned through hard times.

Great interview and beautiful picture of you and Sean. You certainly don’t look like an AM.
Have a great day.

I read it yesterday, and thought you gave a great interview.
Her ebook is great – found it really helpful. Wish it had been around when I was starting my blog.
